November ‘On Repeat’

IMG_4864-2Oh November, I’m going to be completely honest, I really can’t wait for you to be over.

This month has really sucked me dry. The stress levels were crazy and I seriously hope the new month brings a few Christmas miracles, fun adventures and a lot less anxiety!

As you can probably tell, it’s been a full long month since my last post (super shameful I know) and all I can say was this month was a big one, filled with so much change, and as I stated above, some not so great ones. That’s the reason I’ve been M.I.A lately, but I promise you’ll be seeing a lot more of me in the days to come.

The one thing that got me through this month was definitely my usual friend that goes everywhere with me, my music library! Although I didn’t discover many new artists this month, a few great albums were released and I had a lot of fun playing and replaying them, so much that my shuffle button has now clearly forgotten what it was made for.

So, let’s get into it! Here’s my November ‘On Repeat’:

Ariana Grande -Thank you, next

Even T. Swift who is the break-up anthem queen hesitates to name drop her exes on her tracks, but Ari? Oh yes, she went there, she really went there! This song literally came out of nowhere as I’m pretty sure I wasn’t done analysing every single bop on Sweetener, but I’m surely not complaining, don’t think anyone would. I can’t pretend, the ish is just real catchy!

Maisie Peters – Dressed too nice for a jacket (EP)

She is probably the only new artist I came across this month but one listen to this EP and I was hooked. I haven’t really had much time to research her and get crazy obsessed about her story like I usually do with new artists, but one thing I know for sure is that those songs must have come from a place of personal stories and heartbreak.

My favourite one? You To You.

Maisie wishes karma gets her ex, but what I love about it is that someone else will have to be the one to exact revenge on him as she recognizes she clearly has no influence or power over him anymore to be able to do so.

Alessia Cara – Not today

This song embodied most of my emotions this month. I just love how relatable her music is.

Lennon Stella – Love, me

Probably one of my favourite eps right now.

I just love how the whole thing is completely different from the usual sound every pop star is going for now. it really works for her and I can’t wait to hear how she evolves in the future.

Ellie Goulding – Close to you

I love how Ellie keeps her British accent intact when she is singing, or maybe that’s just in my head. It’s been too many years since Delirium. I’m ready for a new era, are you?

Rita Ora – Phoenix

Although it took what felt like a decade to get a sophomore album from Rits, well she did it, she finally released it. This one is still super fresh for me as it’s the latest album I’ve listened to this month so I’m still breaking down lyrics and bopping to each track. I bet my favourites will change, but right now it’s ‘Falling to pieces’ and ‘Velvet Rope’.

Jennie – Solo

Definitely a grower, but now it’s stuck in my head and I don’t know how to make it go away. Any suggestions?

Little mix – LM5

I was concerned about what this album would sound like before its release. You see, I loved the ‘Glory Days’ era so much I just didn’t want them to ruin the great wave they were riding on that one. And yes, they delivered.

Grown up, loud, real and vulnerable, they really went there on this album. There was even some storytelling on this one, which is super rare on pop albums. The whole thing is just a big feminist anthem!

This one has been on repeat more than the others and it’s not going off any time soon.

Just came to the realization that this list is only filled with real badass women. I guess that was the mood I was in all month! Check out the playlist below and I’m dying to know what has been ‘On Repeat on yours.
