Troxy, London – A Wheelchair Accessible Venue Review

Byrachylewis September 1, 2022August 11, 2023

The thought alone made me smile. I shook it off instantly or at least I tried to. But my mind was already leaps and bounds ahead of me. Vivid was the possibility of fun ahead of me – I could already imagine a night I’d…

REVIEW: It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

First things first, this book inspired my previous post ‘The Story Can Always Change Midway’, so I think it’s safe to say the journey to the last page was not quite smooth-sailing. I try my best not to judge books by their cover, but it’s…

Let me just say that when I listed ‘read more’ as part of my goals and intentions for the year I did not know what fun I was in for right off the bat. All I knew then was I wasn’t reading as much as…

REVIEW: The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

I feel that it’s best that I preface this review by saying that I haven’t read many thrillers before this one, and I dived in not really knowing what to expect or look forward to. Damn, was I in for a ride! Its been a…

BOOK REVIEW: The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary

Byrachylewis November 27, 2020May 18, 2023

When I lay down in bed late in the evening to unwind with a book in hand, the one thing I look for is an excited and impatient urge to flip through the pages, and well my fingers always did a happy dance each time…

Black Lives Matter: Please, The Fight Against Racism Cannot End Here

Byrachylewis June 10, 2020June 10, 2020

I’ve been trying to craft the right words to explain how I’ve been feeling lately. Will it come across as aggressive? Could this come across as bitter or pessimistic? Will I be labelled another angry black woman? I’ve been going through all these questions in…

The Art Of Looking Up When Life Slows Down

Byrachylewis November 22, 2019March 22, 2023

Counting aeroplanes in the sky used to be my favourite pastime. It was simple and required little to no physical strain or movement. There was no gimmick, trick or shiny object involved to top the fun up a notch, yet, somehow, I’d do it without…

Cancel Culture Should Be Cancelled And Here’s Why

I don’t think I’ll ever get to say this again; Obama took the words right out of my mouth, and yes, I’m referring to that Obama. I started putting down my thoughts on this topic about a week ago, but before that, I found myself…

Two Months To The Next DECADE! How To Spend The Rest Of The Year

Byrachylewis November 1, 2019November 19, 2022

Let this sit in your mind for a moment: it’s only two months left until the start of a new decade. How bizarre that is! The last time a new decade began, I was only 12 and certainly way too naïve to feel pressured by…

Look, if you know me in real life, you’re probably going to be thinking ‘Hmm, since when do you read books?’. Fair enough. It is a well-known fact that I’m that girl who’d rather choose to watch a movie than read the book, and as…

Sometimes you find random little gems for places y Sometimes you find random little gems for places you can’t wait to revisit. During my time in London a few weeks ago, my sister and I stopped for lunch at @figorestaurant and it was so good I just had to write about it.

If you’ve read my recent blog posts then you’d If you’ve read my recent blog posts then you’d know I’ve not been feeling my best lately. Despite having the best start to September, the change in weather stuck to my bones and I felt it just a little too long. Whilst I shook off a 38 degree fever, I’m still fighting an oddly clingy cough.
The bright side? I am doing BETTER and I can finally BREATHE — literally! How have you been doing through the transitioning weather? I hope you’re doing much better too! ✨

Not now. Not ever. Life moves fast, and it moves q Not now. Not ever. Life moves fast, and it moves quick, sometimes you try to grab it, but it floats away like thin air. But be sure to never let it pass like a field through a train window. Don’t sit idle as the world around you turns and moves and shakes. No. Take on the world around you, stay alert whilst it turns and shake things up while things shake. Don’t let it pass you by - after all, it’s your story to write. You got this.

A little belated, but here is an August dump fille A little belated, but here is an August dump filled with wonderful memories that are now floating in the review mirror of my mind. The good news is September is here and it’s already shaping up to be even more fun and even more beautiful.
August really did slip away, but I’m ready for the changing seasons, new beginnings and suprising happenings. Are you?
