Bitesize Wonders 70 ~ A Sunday Gratitude Journal

Dolly Alderton's book 'Good Material' and plate of toasted bread and eggs placed on bed

After 3 whole days off work and a lovely weekend, I can say I’m feeling rejuvenated and refreshed. The good news? The upcoming week will be my last work week of the year and then it will be all about the Christmas season. As you can probably guess, I’m super pumped for the holiday season ahead. I’m looking forward to all the holiday-themed Bitesize Wonders, and I’m sure we’re all collectively ready to switch and enjoy some quality time with loved ones. I tried to tick some elements off my to-do list on the days I didn’t work – rearrange my room, finish editing my YouTube video, and plan my next trip.

I also tried to enjoy the little things to the fullest – winter sunshine, breakfast at lunchtime, handwritten journaling sessions, and the third cup of tea at midday.
Continuing to regularly catch moments of pure magic and trap them on a page.
It’s been quite something, stopping to notice the little big things making me even an ounce of happy on a day-to-day basis.
These are some of my Bitesize Wonders this week:

My Bitesize Wonders…

  • The smell of toasted bread and fried eggs that awakens all my senses on a relaxing morning off.
  • Slower days without deadlines to catch up to. I wake up before my alarm clock and don’t even hate it (I’m no morning person!). Hot showers I don’t have to rush out of. Resting for the sake of resting.
  • Re-watching old Ryan Reynolds movie all weekend because why not?
  • The sound of rain and forceful wind lulling me to sleep on a cold winter night. There’s just something so comforting about the rain.
  • When the ‘current read’ is witty, creatively written and overall, a freaking good time – so far at least. Hope I didn’t just jinx it.
  • Headphones on. Lights dimmed. Solo bedroom dance session like no one’s watching. Cause no one’s watching!

And you? What little things have brought you joy lately?

  1. Ooh I must say, a great fried egg on toast is one of the simple breakfasts that I miss the most since moving to a vegan diet – so delicious!!

And I LOVE the comfort of being indoors while it’s hammering down with rain and whilst wind whistles outside the window. The ultimate everyday luxury.

    1. I can’t imagine life with fried eggs, but I admire your decision and willpower to switch to a vegan diet. I sometimes wonder if I’d be able to and might try in the future.

The little things really do make the biggest difference! Thanks for reading!
