BOOK REVIEW: Before The Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi

Byrachylewis June 2, 2023June 2, 2023

If you had the opportunity to, would you return to the past even for a short moment? What would you change if you had the chance to do things differently? And now would you still do it if you knew nothing you do would change the…

REVIEW: Stuck With You by Ali Hazelwood

Byrachylewis September 22, 2022May 18, 2023

Finding a perfectly comfortable position to read in is every reader’s mission. It’s not impossible but can sure feel like it sometimes. When I picked up Ali Hazelwood’s book hiding in my Kindle Paper White, I was pleased to not only be stuck with another…

REVIEW: It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

Byrachylewis March 10, 2022May 18, 2023

First things first, this book inspired my previous post ‘The Story Can Always Change Midway’, so I think it’s safe to say the journey to the last page was not quite smooth-sailing. I try my best not to judge books by their cover, but it’s…

REVIEW: The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood

Byrachylewis February 3, 2022May 18, 2023

Let me just say that when I listed ‘read more’ as part of my goals and intentions for the year I did not know what fun I was in for right off the bat. All I knew then was I wasn’t reading as much as…

REVIEW: The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

Byrachylewis August 27, 2021May 18, 2023

I feel that it’s best that I preface this review by saying that I haven’t read many thrillers before this one, and I dived in not really knowing what to expect or look forward to. Damn, was I in for a ride! Its been a…

BOOK REVIEW: The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary

Byrachylewis November 27, 2020May 18, 2023

When I lay down in bed late in the evening to unwind with a book in hand, the one thing I look for is an excited and impatient urge to flip through the pages, and well my fingers always did a happy dance each time…

REVIEW: Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams

Byrachylewis June 23, 2020May 18, 2023

Whew! It’s been a while since I’ve done a book review on here, but that changes today. The book I will be reviewing lived in my virtual shopping cart for a long while, but after being overwhelmed with the social media hype, I gave in…

REVIEW: This Is Going To Hurt By Adam Kay

Byrachylewis March 27, 2020May 18, 2023

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these; book reviews, I mean. After my attempt to become more loyal to paperbacks and hardcovers, I admittedly let go of that ambition not long after. Everything I Know About Love was the book that ignited…

BOOK REVIEW: Everything I Know About Love by Dolly Alderton

Byrachylewis August 22, 2019May 18, 2023

Look, if you know me in real life, you’re probably going to be thinking ‘Hmm, since when do you read books?’. Fair enough. It is a well-known fact that I’m that girl who’d rather choose to watch a movie than read the book, and as…

Life lately 🫶 I’m just gonna pretend it hasn’t been a bit too long since I posted on the grid. Instead let’s catch up through hopefully less sporadic updates, shall we? I hear photos are in on instagram again, but because I just got the memo, here’s another reel no one asked for…
That said, how are we feeling about returning to work today after a long Bank Holiday weekend off. Hope we all don’t feel the ‘too-well-rested-to-work’ kind of hangover for too long. And because no one likes Tuesdays that feel like Mondays, drink a lot of water and take even the smallest of steps towards your goal today. Remember, this too shall pass!

Are you dreaming big enough…? Or are you stuck s Are you dreaming big enough…? Or are you stuck somewhere between almost and never tried? It’s the worst place to get stuck. The narrowest road that’s comfortable enough to stand in just a little longer each passing day, but simultaneously so uncomfortable you just know you should be elsewhere.
I’ve been there before – in fact, I visit that road almost every changing season. A place where change is just as daunting as staying the same. Same old. Same old again.
But, if you don’t try to open the door, it will always stay closed. If you don’t ask, the answer will always remain ‘no’. And if you don’t try – oh my dear, you’ll never know!
