The Grill Restaurant At Luxury Celtic Manor Resort | Review

|

During my relaxing stay at the luxurious Celtic Manor Resort, one of our favourite things to do was eat, of course. Hopping from one restaurant to another during the few days we were there was easily one of the greatest highlights of the trip and The Grill Restaurant was a clear stand-out from the rest.
One of the very first things we did upon arrival at the resort was grab a late lunch at The Grill.

My sister and I got there too early to check into our room at the hotel. By then we were famished so food was the only thing on our minds. We looked at a lit-up board in the lobby that was showcasing the best restaurants to eat at in the Celtic Manor Resort and quickly booked a table at The Grill just because we felt so inclined to.
My experience eating at The Grill in Celtic Manor Resort was delightful for sure and of course, I’ll tell you why.

Inside The Grill Restaurant.

With brick walls and wooden tables, the clubhouse restaurant hides a rather warm and cosy atmosphere as well as a stunning view of the Roman Road Golf Course. It is an undeniable perk during golden sunsets.

We were led to our table immediately, handed the paper lunch menu and temporarily left alone to make our pick.

The Dishes At The Grill.

I’m usually indecisive when choosing what to eat at restaurants, but I was sure I wanted to have a steak. Here’s what we ordered:

rump steak, slaw and fries at The Grill Restaurant Celtic Manor Resort

Rachy’s Table.

1 Artisan Focaccia Bread

2 10oz British Rump Steak: Grilled field mushroom, served with house fries and slaw

2 Coke Bottles

Selection Of Ice Cream And Sorbet (Chocolate & Honeycomb)

The food was extremely well done and delicious. When the focaccia arrived, I was a bit thrown off because it was not what I was expecting. I mean, it just didn’t look like a typical focaccia I’d order in an Italian restaurant, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The fries came hot and were made with just the right amount of salt and I was certainly addicted to the slaw. While the steak was literally perfect to chew on, it was a bit too teeny tiny for its price.

We ordered ice cream for dessert and had to try out the honeycomb flavour as the vanilla had run out. It was still nice, though I’m sure I’d have preferred the vanilla flavour. Overall, the meal was immensely satisfying, and I can say that for sure because I couldn’t resist going back for round two before leaving the resort.

The Service at The Grill Restaurant.

I believe a server named Henry tended our table, and they were phenomenal and quite attentive. Although we were rushing to catch the train, the second time we were there we got to interact with more staff members. They were certainly a lovely bunch.

It’s worth noting that while this is not explicitly stated, an additional service charge fee is added to the bill.
