Miller & Carter Manchester | Review

My hunt for the best steakhouse in Manchester led me to Miller & Carter a few weeks ago. Despite passing by the restaurant chain a few times, I had never seen the insides of the restaurant perfectly situated in the heart of the city.
Well, this changed when I chose to celebrate my birthday by dining at Miller & Carter a few weeks ago. An easy decision since I’ve been unapologetically addicted to steak so much these days.
Does Miller & Carter serve high-quality steak? Are there a variety of items on the menu? What is the dress code for Miller & Carter Manchester? Is Miller & Carter disabled access friendly?

Inside Miller & Carter Manchester.
We arrived at the restaurant early (for once!) – about twenty minutes or so before our reservation. Because of this, we waited a few minutes for our table to be allocated to us.
Miller & Carter has a very classic steakhouse design. The wooden tables, warm tone lights and bar area get you straight into the right mood to cut into some juicy steak. At the same time, the interior felt cosy but still maintained some level of elegance to it.
We were directed to a corner table near the bar area and were soon after handed menus.

For starters, we ordered the Sticky Chipotle Chicken and Calamari. The sticky chipotle chicken was such a pleasant surprise when I had the first bite. Obsessed! And yes, I always order calamari! Honestly, we loved these so much that it got us pumped for the mains. And those did not disappoint either.

The steak was actually one of the best I’ve had so far. It was perfectly juicy and just the right amount of chewy. Then and there I understood why their steak is award-winning. Each steak comes with a steak sauce, wedge dressing, and a side. I chose seasoned fries as the side and frankly, I had no complaints with them either.
I’m very particular about how I like my fries and can’t stand when they are bland, saltless or dry… It’s a good thing these were the complete opposite.

Usually, at this point in my review, I often tell you what I didn’t like about my meal at Miller & Carter. I’m pleased to inform you there are no ‘howevers’, ‘buts’ or ‘sadlys’ to include here.
Okay, maybe just one thing to note. I thought the mocktail tasted a little too sweet, almost sugary. If you don’t have a sweet tooth like me, I’d recommend trying something else. In a rare turn of events, I loved every single bite I had in the restaurant, and I’m looking forward to going back soon to try more on their menu.
The Service.
Miller & Carter Manchester proved exceptional service can begin even before we were at the table. Booking our table online was super easy. I also received two reminder texts before our reserved date which I appreciated.

Our server, Josh, was also quite remarkable too. They were forthcoming with pairing recommendations, polite, and made sure to check in with us just enough times.
What Is The Dress Code At Miller And Carter Manchester?
The dress code for Miller & Carter is clearly stated when booking. Guests are expected to wear smart casual outfits. No sportswear is allowed in the restaurant.
How Is Disabled Access in Miller And Carter Manchester?
When it comes to disabled access in Miller & Carter Manchester, the restaurant is fully accessible. As a wheelchair user, I found moving in, out and around fairly easy.
There is also an accessible toilet near the stairs. One thing to note, however, is that when the restaurant is busy, you might find it difficult to pass through to get to the accessible toilets due to the tight space. I had to ask other guests to make a little way, and although they didn’t mind, it would have obviously been better if I didn’t have to.
