Bitesize Wonders 91 ~ A Gratitude Journal | Holiday Edit

Oddly enough it feels more natural for me to be soaking up the hot sun, or hopping from one underground train to another, than it is to be writing this right now. Did I enjoy my time away too much…?
As I teased in my previous gratitude journal entry, I returned to Italy for the first time in two years. As expected, it was nothing short of divine.
I enjoyed a rather nostalgic stroll in my hometown, ate so much pasta to make up 90% of my bloodstream, and wore pretty dresses that made me feel like my best self. I could say it was a great start to another “Hot Girl Summer”.
The last few weeks have given me so much to celebrate. There have been so many highlights penned in my gratitude journal and I can’t wait to share them with you. The time away felt not only refreshing to my state of mind but also necessary. A perfect mid-year getaway to recharge my soul before I take on the rest of the year ahead.
Here is another updated list of Bitesize Wonders from my weekly gratitude journal series that celebrates the little big things that make me even one ounce of happy:
My Bitesize Wonders…

- Logging off the work computer for the last time before taking off. No better feeling!
- A functional airport. Not sure if it was travelling after 5 pm that did it or it being a random Thursday, but it was one of the first times when things felt efficient. From arrival to security checks to boarding, everything was shockingly smooth sailing. Can’t say the same for my return to the U.K. but that’s a story for another day…
- Getting to witness one of my best friend’s wedding in person. Wild to think we’ve gone from over-energetic teens in high school who laughed about anything and everything to fully grown adults. And it was beautiful of course. And she was beautiful of course.
- Choosing various kinds of pasta off the menu at every chance I get because – “it’s now or never, right?”. At the very least not soon enough till I return. It never is!
- Two years ago, I took an impromptu trip to Venice, this time all roads led to Rome, and it was as beautiful as I expected (You bet, the Rome content is coming soon!).
- Sundresses and sunscreen. THE perfect combo!

- Ditching voice notes for face-to-face reunions with my favourite people. Kisses on both cheeks. Hugs that release more warmth than the scorching sun. Laughter under the summer rain. Getting in for the last order before the kitchen closes. An unexpected thoughtful gift stored in a blue bag. And a lot of love to go around…
- Enjoying the best way to wrap up the trip with a warm dip in the jacuzzi and a lovely morning at the sauna. If you hadn’t guessed it, yes – I’d do it all again in a heartbeat.
- After returning to Manchester, the fun didn’t end there because two days ago I got on a train heading to London to watch IU perform at OVO Wembley Arena. Her voice was EVERYTHING. I had hearts in my eyes the whole night!
Your restless romantic roamer
Remember, most weeks won’t look like a fun holiday abroad, but there are always Bitesize Wonders to cherish. What is something you’re grateful for?
Your Italy trip sounds amazing! I’m glad you had such a refreshing and enjoyable time. The IU concert must have been a great experience too. She’s just amazing and an OG! Btw, hello. April here! ✨
Hi April! I’m so happy to have you here! It really was the most fun time returning to Italy. I’ve had some life changes lately and I’ve been doing a lot of travelling lately, but I’ll be returning real soon with so much content from Italy and more… I hope you stick around 😉
Hi, Minae here (copying April’s greeting above hehe!) x
You’re so lucky you got to see IU! it was too expensive for me at the time, and i had to focus on my uni assignments so i gave it a pass and i kinda regret it T_T
I’m glad you had a lovely getaway!

It was truly the greatest time and she’s such an incredible talent to behold in person! To be honest, I expected nothing less.
I hope you get to see her live in person at least once in the future – I promise you it was so worth it! I hope your uni assignments also went well! Have a great weekend! x
