Bitesize Wonders 56 ~ A Sunday Gratitude Journal

My weekend has consisted of procrastination and mindless scrolling through Threads (follow me!). Funny, the app has existed for less than a week and I, like millions of others, cannot seem to put it down. Is it soon to add Threads to my list of Bitesize Wonders?

Anyways, I’m glad you took a moment off threading to catch up with me this Sunday morning.

How was my week, you ask? A little messy to be completely honest with you. There were a few ups and a couple of downs that kept me in a little bit of a state of limbo. It was a week that reminded me that although you cannot fix every unpleasant happening, you are solely in charge of your reaction and next move. What the world holds? You’ll just have to watch and see.

As with most weeks, I had to create my Bitesize Wonders a.k.a little joys that give me even one ounce of happiness, and when I didn’t, I gave myself the space to recognise the moments of pure magic around me. As always, these are the Bitesize Wonders I found lately:

My Bitesize Wonders…

  • The family of three in the grocery store parking lot. Their contagious laughter echoed as they wait for the one who would be in the empty driver’s seat to show up dragging a goodie-filled trolley. A candid moment that lifted the corners of my mouth.
  • Old faces, new memories. There’s something so effortless about reuniting with old friends that sparks sweet sweet joy…
  • Picture this. 11 pm sitting in the dark with the TV light shining on me and my bowl of hot spicy ramen. Now, that’s a Bitesize Wonder!
  • It might have taken 26 years, but I’ve finally opened a door I won’t be able to close and begun exploring New York through the single wild lives of each Sex And The City character. For a show written in the late 90s, it sure feels like no time passed at all. I guess what I’m trying to say is I get why everyone loves the show – I totally get it!
  • Securing tickets to the show. I have three concerts on my September calendar, and I can hardly wait!
  • Mother-daughters bonding while playing Uno cards after midnight. Not to brag (totally bragging!), but I won twice.
  • Solo coffee shop dates that end only when you’re told: “We’re closing in 15 minutes”.

Have a great start to the week!
