Bitesize Wonders 80 ~ A Sunday Gratitude Journal | Mother’s Day Edit

|

Sometimes gratitude doesn’t come easy. You hold the cards life has dealt and wonder why the universe thought you could handle them with grace. Trust me, I would know. I’ve been keeping a Sunday gratitude journal filled with Bitesize Wonders for over 2 years now and I know for a fact that capturing the ‘silver lining’ in my day-to-day isn’t always easy. Today, however, it is.

It’s easy to be grateful. It’s even easier to feel a sense of comfort. And it’s easy to appreciate the cards I’ve been dealt.

I’m grateful for my mum on this day.

I’m grateful for the conversations mid-cup of tea. And I’m even more grateful for the warm hug after a long flight. The tasty meals shared around a table and the familiar laughter that never fails to make my heart smile.

I’m grateful for the sound of her footsteps coming up the stairs and the sound of her voice coming through the loudspeaker on my phone. The clothes she picked out in my early teen years that still hang behind my closet. The creative spark I definitely got from her side. And all the moments in between.

So, when everything fails around me, and the ground beneath my feet is uneven and shaky. I will remember to be grateful for the one who shows up for me every day.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the great mums out there.
