The Best Of La Roche-Posay | Skincare Edit

Testing. Testing. I’m glad to report I’m very much at a point where I don’t have to say those words and can now tell you about the skincare brand that has been living on my skin for over a year now. I can safely say La Roche-Posay and I made it out of the “talking stage” ages ago and are now in a rather reciprocal committed relationship. Hence, here’s a skincare edit you didn’t see coming – it’s time I introduce you to some of my current favourite skincare products by La Roche-Posay. I was first inclined to dabble in La Roche-Posay skincare when I was desperately searching for a new moisturiser to play saviour to my then-flaky dry skin.
Back then I was still telling myself I’d get serious about skincare and develop a K-beauty style 10-step routine, but god knows I wasn’t patient enough to keep that up!
So I filtered my search to these three words: simple, soothing and seasoned. In other words, I wanted something easy to apply, feels great on the skin and has a track record of doing what it says it will on the bottle.
That’s how my daily journey with La Roche-Posay began.
These are the best La Roche-Posay products that have enriched my skin lately:

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Sensitive Moisturiser.
Best for last? Nah! The Toleriane Sensitive Moisturiser is the one I want to rave about first because I just can’t help myself! It’s the product that made me excited to try more La Roche-Posay products and the one that leaves my skin feeling great on the daily. This moisturiser is a staple among my skincare products and is one I can’t imagine parting with anytime soon.
Made explicitly for sensitive skin types, this velvety moisturiser glides effortlessly over the skin, seamlessly absorbing into the skin to provide deep hydration and a soothing sensation.
With its unique blend of calming and safeguarding active ingredients such as Glycerin, Ceramides, and Vitamin B3, the La Roche Posay moisturiser gently nurtures the skin, gradually diminishing sensitivity. I use it during both morning and night-time skincare routine and it’s the only moisturiser I can say I’ve felt make a major difference to my skin texture.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Clarifying Lotion.
The Effaclar Clarifying Lotion was my second discovery by La-Roche-Posay and I haven’t turned back since. I apply this astringent toner with a cotton pad all over my face right after cleansing and before my skin becomes dry. The product assists in eliminating excess oils, unblocking pores and reducing their visibility on the skin. It also gets rid of any sneaky remnants of left-over makeup. I apply this before dabbing on the Toleriane Sensitive Moisturiser.
The right toner can be hard to find so if you’re looking for a good one, I’d say this is definitely worth a try.

La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5+
It was only until recently that I discovered La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5+ after watching a series of beauty gurus raving about it online. One video led to another thanks to the inescapable algorithm, then the next thing I knew, I had the Cicaplast Baume in my virtual basket. A day later, it was on my doorstep.
I was beyond curious to find out what the rave was all about with this particular La Roche-Posay product. The Cicaplast Baume is a multi-purpose balm that soothes and nourishes the skin. It also protects and repairs the skin barrier function.
One plus side is that the Cicaplast Baume can be used in various ways. Most times, I use a light layer of it over my moisturiser and on occasion as a mask. The balm is much thicker than the average moisturiser, works well for dry skin and can be applied generously in layers. Whenever my skin needs a pick-me-up, I reach out for the Cicaplast Baume these days.

La Roche-Posay Toleraine Dermo Cleanser.
When it comes to cleansers, lately I’ve been loving the La Roche-Posay Toleraine Dermo cleanser even more. This cleanser is so gentle on the skin and it’s made with a simple formula that is suitable for sensitive skin. I’ve been using this mainly in the morning and I’m so pleased with the fact it doesn’t irritate my skin or make me break out at all. I’d recommend it to those looking to scale back on the amount of ingredients they use in their routine. It also has a milky texture that’s a dream to apply which I love and it’s super easy to rinse off.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Cleansing Gel.
I haven’t been able to fully commit to this cleaning gel 100% and will admit to cheating on it frequently with some other cleaners.
This gel formula gets rid of dirt on the skin and is proven to reduce spots and blackheads. Whilst this cleanser does an amazing job at leaving the skin feeling refreshed and re-awakened, its one fatal flaw is its scent. It has a strong ‘formula-like’ scent I struggle to like or even get used to despite the number of times I use it. Whilst some love it, I’ve tried and found I just can’t say the same so I use it on and off which isn’t ideal – but what can a girl do?
