Bitesize Wonders 83 ~ A Sunday Gratitude Journal

After the much-needed Easter bank holiday and a day trip to the beach last weekend, I felt a lot better approaching the week I just had. Whenever I travel, I feel ten times better so following the very rocky past couple of weeks, it was great to switch off for a while.
I’m even more excited for the week ahead because it’s my birthday on Thursday!
Although I’m not doing much to celebrate this year, I still ordered a cake and booked two days off from work. I have a rule where I just won’t work on my birthday and that’s that!

Every year around my birthday, I get conflicting emotions about growing older and becoming a full-fledged adult.
This year, however, I am trying to remind myself just how lucky I am to be alive.
Since I adopted the gratitude journal practice, I guess I’ve learnt a lot about shifting perspectives to what truly matters. Waking up in the morning, breathing in fresh air, a call with a friend, a large dinner serving. These are just a few simple joys that fill up my gratitude journal each week.

Here is another update from my weekly online gratitude journal that celebrates the little big things that make me even one ounce of happy:

My Bitesize Wonders…

  • The spring sunshine warming more than just the air and my entire soul beams. Don’t we all get just a little happier when the sun is out?
  • Picking up flowers with the groceries again – well, because I can!
  • Crunchy bites into a bar of the perfect creamy milk chocolate. A little too easy to give in to those sweet-tooth cravings.
  • Slow folding a pile of laundry while I organise my deepest thoughts into an organised pile.
  • Wrapping my day with the monthly vlogs by Claudia Sulewski. If you enjoy watching vlogs, this is a satisfying-to-watch slice of life I’d highly recommend it!
  • The ‘sleep’ focus setting on my phone to drown out the noise. Bye-bye to the buzzing and hustling, even if for just a few hours.
  • Seeing the blog flourish and grow! While I never started this for the numbers, it’s been crazy to see how much the blog has grown to its highest consistent viewership in the past five years. One thing is for sure, it’s all thanks to your support. Thank you for reading – always!

    1. I used to be such a deep sleeper, but recently something switched and I even dealt with insomnia a few weeks ago for the first time so all the silence I can get is so valuable to me nowadays. Hence the very handy sleep focus selection to keep notifications at bay!

      Thank you for reading x
