Bitesize Wonders 84 ~ A Sunday Gratitude Journal – The Birthday Edit

|

Flipping my gratitude journal open to write a list of Bitesize Wonders feels so easy on days like today. After the week I had to celebrate my birthday, feeling grateful for the little things isn’t tasking at all. Instead, I was reminded how much love is around the corner and how vital it is to keep those who continue to choose you closer and closer each day. Initially, I told myself I wouldn’t celebrate my birthday this year.

I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it and just didn’t have that usual giddy feeling that finds me whenever April comes around. When Thursday came so did one of the best birthdays I’ve had in a very long time.
Let me spell out the ways by catching the memories from moments of pure magic and trapping them on the page as I recall my Bitesize Wonders from my birthday week.

Here is another update from my weekly online gratitude journal that celebrates the little big things that make me even one ounce of happy:

My Bitesize Wonders…

  • No work. All play. Taking three days off to sit back, rest and relax was the best decision ‘past me’ made all those weeks back.
  • Waking up to a pink envelope peeking through my bedroom door. It could only be from one person and my guess is correct when I open it up. A tear-jerking handwritten note that makes me feel everything all at once. A perfect start to my day.
  • Choosing a cake design is always exciting – even more so when my current favourite baker makes it. The classic red velvet flavour hidden under white and gold fondant cream. It’s a sweet treat perfect for a sweet tooth.
  • Enjoying my very first hot stone massage appointment. Surely, one of the best hours I’ve ever spent.
  • When they know me so well the gift is just so ‘me’. A.k.a the perfect leather jacket I’ll be wearing with every fit for the foreseeable future.
  • Finally completing the wardrobe cleanout I’ve been procrastinating on for months. Now it’s clean and pristine and I’m in love. Was a little sad saying goodbye to some sentimental pieces though…
  • The rebirth of my YouTube channel and the Candid Diaries vlogging series. Admittedly haven’t been the most consistent with it because – life! – but I’m sure I can change this – so subscribe here for more.
  • Food that widens my eyes and melts in my mouth. I visited Miller & Carter Steakhouse for a little birthday dinner and it was what my foodie dreams are made of. Stay tuned for the restaurant review!
  • Drinking 2L of water. Completing the ‘move’ ring on the Apple watch. Falling asleep before midnight. The simple healthy habits that make everything a little better.
  • Making wishes and replying to heartfelt best wishes. The little things never fail to make me feel special on my birthday!

And you… how was your week? What are your Bitesize Wonders this week?
